The Dark Knight Rises...was #1 at the box office...but no celebrations....

The Dark Knight Rises....takes the top spot at the box office.....it managed to take in $160 million over the weekend....$75 Million came on it's first day in release.....most people were excited to be going to the midnight showing of the most anticipated movie of the summer....I actually took my son to the midnight showing and have to say it was one of the best comic book movies yet.....the last 30 minutes were fantastic....as always there are cgi and effects that seem to go over the top....but this is one of the first movies where I would go to see it again before it goes to DVD...that speaks volumes for Nolan and Bale.....I am convinced Christian Bale is the best batman ever to grace the big screen....Michael Caine and Anne Hathaway were great.....numbers through yesterday have the movie bringing in $180 million domestic....$288 million worldwide...and this movie should pick up speed when word gets out on how good the Dark Knight Rises is....

...but none of this seems to matter after that midnight showing in Aurora, Colorado...so many lives all across america changed that day...

There are no words that I could say......my heart and prayers go out to all of the families that have lost loved ones.....

Prometheus stayed at number two as well....with another $20 million....Rock of Ages....taking a beating from critics kept folks away from its openning weekend....just $15 million for a Tom Cruise movie.....wow....and maybe America has regained its common sense...Sandler's movie bombed in its first weekend...That's My Boy only opened with $13 million....that's back to back bombs.....
